You know that thing when you’ve been given a compliment and one on hand, you’re like “oh, that’s so nice—thank you!” but also on the other hand, you’re like, “um, me?? Are you sure you’re talking about ME?”

Will mentioned to me a couple weeks ago that at youth group, they’re working through the fruits of the spirit, one each week. The fruits of the spirit are a list of character qualities listed in Galatians—the Apostle Paul was writing to the church at Galatia, and he told them, essentially, that the evidence of God’s work in your life will show itself in these qualities, that when you’re trusting God with your life, when you’re allowing the Holy Spirit to shape and heal you, there will be evidence of that good work, and it will look like this: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
