A little bit of really fun news around here: I’m hosting a food & culture tour of Sicily next year and I’d love for you to come!
Last year, my mom and I went on a similar trip with Elizabeth and Sophie Minchilli and their tour company ViaRosa, and it’s basically a dream come true that I get to go back and host a trip with the same wonderful tour company.
You can read all about the details (and sign up!) here, and you can read all about the trip my mom & I took here—but here’s the short version: it was one of the best trips I’ve ever been on in my life.
This trip is March 15-21, 2026, and here are a few highlights: we’ll stay in an absolutely beautiful hotel in Palermo—with a really great breakfast situation. We’ll walk through outdoor markets, which is basically my favorite thing to do in a new city. We’ll learn how to make cheese, tour beautiful churches and an actual palazzo, spend lots of time in the beautiful, lush countryside. We’ll learn about Sicilian history and culture, learn to make pasta and couscous, sample incredible pastries both in a Medieval village and in a convent—did you know Sicily is known for its pastries?

It’s a small group—only twelve spots—and I can tell you from experience that this is basically the perfect size for a tour like this. Elizabeth does a beautiful job of crafting the itinerary so that there are lots of adventures but also just the right amount of downtime/free time.
You can sign up with a friend or your daughter or partner, but you can also just jump on in solo—in our group we had a pair of sisters, a mother-daughter pair (that was us!) two married couples and several solo travelers, and it all worked great.

Sicily has absolutely captured me—the history and culture, the natural beauty, the flavors and smells and sounds. It’s beautiful and dramatic and a little haunting, and it tastes like blood oranges and ricotta salata and pistachios and really great white wine. It’s the bright green of the rolling hills and the severity of the sea, the cobblestones of the streets and the stories around every corner. I absolutely can’t wait to go back, and I’d love for you to join me :) XO—S
