Also: all about Mother's Day, sooo much baseball &--of course--a book list :)
I don’t usually think of Mother’s Day weekend as a jam-packed whirlwind, but wow! this one sure was, and to be honest, we’re all still recovering a little bit :) And okay, it wasn’t all Mother’s Day related…there was another important happening in our lives this weekend: the Cubs played three games against the Mets at Citifield, and it’s kind of a long story but we went to all three games AND on Saturday we got to go to batting practice and meet some of our favorite players (Dansby Swanson and PCA!) and it was AMAZING. Massive thank you to our friends who made this happen—it was such a special memory, especially for Will.
That’s a lot of baseball, and we won’t miss our daily commute to Flushing, and maybe we should lay off the peanuts, Cracker Jacks and little helmets of soft serve for a while, but also it was really really fun. We went with different friends each game and sat in different parts of the park, and on Sunday afternoon, we sat way up on the 400 level, in the hot bright sunshine, and I told my family, “this is my favorite Mother’s Day ever.” And it was.
